Application Submission

All grant applications must be submitted electronically via our Submittable site.

2025 SCR Cycle: Application window opens Monday, January 6, 2025. Categories: Arts Education, Community Arts, and Individual Artist.

2024 SCR Cycle, Round 2: Currently open for Arts Education and Community Arts only.

Download the latest SCR Application Guidelines (updated annually).

2. Organize with Tools

Use this brainstorming worksheet to prepare a competitive application.

3. Focus Your Narrative

Include:

Project Summary: Who, What, Where, When, Why.

Goals: What you hope to achieve.

Community Need: Explain the importance of your project.

Budget Explanation: Ensure your narrative aligns with your budget form.

Marketing Plan: Detail your outreach strategy across media platforms.

Adaptability: Plan for partial funding scenarios.

For additional support, attend a grant seminar or schedule an individual consultation with our coordinator.

Find out if you're eligible:

Eligible Applicants

Must reside in the county of the project (exceptions apply with fiscal sponsors).

NYS-incorporated nonprofits, government agencies (local/county), and tribal organizations.

Arts groups/organizations and individual artists (with a fiscal sponsor).

Private colleges/universities.

Applicants/project managers must be 18+ years old.

Ineligible Applicants

Public/private schools below college level, public school districts.

NY State departments/agencies (including BOCES).

Applicants with overdue final reports.

Organizations/individuals applying directly to NYSCA in the same fiscal year.
