About Us

The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts (ALCA) is a vibrant cultural hub located in the heart of the Adirondack Park. Since our founding in 1967, we have been dedicated to enriching people and communities through arts programming, performances, exhibitions and educational opportunities.

Arts Center programs serve people of all ages and abilities and provide shared experiences that build strong communities.

Artists and arts organizations across our four-county region are empowered through grants issued by ALCA, a New York State Council for the arts re-grant site.

ALCA students have developed lifelong passions and even careers based on interests sparked in our workshops and classes.

Generations of families have built – and continue to build - lasting memories at ALCA.

By taking art “out of the building,” ALCA reaches people throughout the central Adirondacks including Indian Lake, Long Lake, Newcomb, Inlet, Old Forge, North Creek, Tupper Lake and beyond.

Community Impact

ALCA serves the six-million-acre Adirondack Park, a "Forever Wild" region known for its stunning wilderness but marked by geographic isolation and economic challenges. By bringing art beyond its walls, ALCA enriches life in communities like Indian Lake, Long Lake, Newcomb, and beyond. Offering programs for all ages and abilities, we create shared experiences that strengthen and connect our communities.
