July 2nd: The Poet Sandwich
Come to Great Camp Sagamore for an evening of inspiring poetry betwixt two of the Northeast’s most talented musicians. Enjoy the smooth vocals of Adam Shenk as he and his piano keys bring a subtle sophistication, reminiscent of Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke, to the urban music scene. Then, sit back and take in the virtuosic poetry of the 2008 Women of the World Poetry Slam winner Andrea Gibson. "[She] does not just show up to pluck your heart strings. She sticks around to tune them. If being floored is new to you, ya might wanna grab a cushion.” –Buddy Wakefield. Then finish the evening with the promising young troubador, singer-songwriter Chris Pureka. With songs like beautifully written short stories it is easy to see why Chris is “ such a gifted guitar player and singer that you have to listen to each song twice, once for her guitar playing and again for her passionate lyrics...” -Boston Globe

A self described “guitar driven songwriter,” Larkin has wound her way through soundscapes of evocative vocals, inventive guitar wizardry and imaginative lyrics.
