The AC Kids Experience Age 7-12

Wednesday at the Arts Center, Blue Mountain Lake
Thursday at the Woods Inn, Inlet

Morning Session: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Or stay for the day and bring your own lunch 10:30 am - 3:00 pm.
Students can come for individual classes or stay for the day and attend both classes.
Remember to bring a smock or large t-shirt to protect clothes for art classes and clothes you can move comfortably in for theater classes.
CLASS LIMIT: 12 so reserve your spot.

Dynamic Drawing. Create a flipbook, making a simple object move across the page.

Broadway Dance 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Dust off your dancing shoes and come learn the basics of Broadway dance styles.

Painting Like A Master 10:30am – 12:30pm
Introduction to Painting.
Paint a still life and learn basic techniques of acrylic painting, on canvas. Finish a painting to bring home.

Stage Combat 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Learn the basics of stage fighting. Learn techniques of unarmed stage combat and use them to produce your own combat scene.

Introduction to Sculpture. Create a fun 3-D sculpture of wood!

Learn the basics of stage acting and how it differs from film. Use your new skills to star in short scenes.

Color-Wash, Not Your Clothes 10:30am – 12:30pm
Explore techniques of watercolor. Learn basic concepts and perspectives, Michelangelo used it, so why can’t you!

Clowning Around 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Create your own zany clown character and learn the art of clowning.

Make Your Own Journal 10:30am – 12:30pm
Introduction to Bookbinding. Learn concepts of how books are made and you can go home with your own book to put all your ideas and sketches in.

Behind the Scenes 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Learn what goes into making a production happen by helping to create props and costumes for our children’s theater production. Explore the ropes of backstage theater

A week-long theatre experience learning basic stage acting and movement ending with Alice in Wonderland at 3:00pm on Friday, August 20th. $60 / $50 members

The Children’s Arts Corner at the AC
